Rob Enjoys Creative Freedom to Develop Snug
5 May 2009
Rob Whitelock joins the company as Snug Creative Advisor. Rob, a former teacher at a secondary school with more than 1,000 pupils, has a wealth of experience in both the education and building sectors, having started his career in architectural design.
He also has a degree in Design and Technology. Rob also has experience of teaching overseas, having worked at a college in New Zealand, gaining an insight into a completely different education system.
Rob comments: “Snug is not only about exercising bodies, but also developing minds. My role enables me to apply the professional and personal skills I have developed during my career. I find myself drawing daily on past experiences, whilst developing more skills as my new role presents fresh challenges.
“National initiatives, including the DCSF Children’s Plan and Building Schools for the Future, offer exciting opportunities for Sutcliffe Play and Snug enables us to build creative and innovative play environments for young people.”
Fast-growing demand for Snug in the UK and overseas has resulted in a £250,000 investment by Sutcliffe Play in the innovative loose parts play range. A dedicated production facility at Sutcliffe Play’s Upton headquarters has been commissioned, enabling specialist foaming and PU spraying to be undertaken in-house.
