Kids Design Awards
21 September 2009
Snug, Sutcliffe Play’s innovative playground kit, has won a prestigious Japanese award, the Kids Design Award.
The Kids Design Award, supported by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, honours products, facilities and programmes which promote children’s safety, security, emotional and physical development.
Snug will now be recommended as a safe and secure product by the Kids Design Association throughout Japan. Viv Jebson, Managing Director of Sutcliffe Play comments: “We’re delighted that Snug has won this award.
The kit is the result of a fifteen year process of research and evaluation by our partners, Snug & Outdoor, into the way that children behave, react and play in specific environments.
“It changes the established patterns of behaviour at playtime by engaging children’s imaginations and giving them the satisfaction of being able to change their own surroundings. It allows children to develop new ways of playing, encouraging creativity, social interaction and cooperation.
The Kids Design Award confirms all of this.” Snug can now be seen in various locations across Japan, having been bought through Kotobuki, Sutcliffe Play’s distributor in Japan, by a mix of schools, shopping centres and nurseries. For further information on Snug phone 01977 653 200.
