Building for Schools Exhibition
9 November 2009
Leading playground equipment designer, manufacturer and exporter Sutcliffe Play, is delighted to be exhibiting for the first time at this year’s Building Schools Exhibition & Conference Middle East & North Africa (BSEC MENA) in Abu Dhabi on 13-14 December.
The company is hoping to accelerate its overseas expansion, particularly in Europe and the Far East, and will be exhibiting a selection of innovative and exciting playground equipment from the Snug range. Sutcliffe Play’s new 180-page catalogue will also be available at the exhibition.
The company has developed and expanded its catalogue by introducing a number of new and innovative ranges including new dynamic play equipment, fitness equipment and a brand new section specifically on elemental play, harnessing natural elements such as water, earth, wind and fire to produce creative play environments.
Visit the Sutcliffe Play stand to find out more about SNUG, the revolutionary concept in loose parts play for school playgrounds. The SNUG kit is designed to transforms bleak playgrounds into dynamic and creative playscapes inspiring children to explore, create, discover and learn. SNUG is already being used to great effect by primary schools throughout the UK, both at play time and as part of the national curriculum.
The company is now seeing a growing demand for SNUG overseas including several Service Children’s Education schools keen to develop play provision for service personnel children. Among them is Tower Primary School in Dulmen, Germany, which has joined Toucan School in Belize and St. Christopher’s School in Gibraltar to invest in SNUG. SNUG was recently awarded the Japanese Kids Design Award and is being used by an increasing number of play and recreation centres, children’s visitor attractions, hotels and shopping centres all over the world.
SNUG has also been successfully trialled at a prestigious international hotel in Atami, Japan, demonstrating that the range can also be used effectively indoors. The colourful SNUG kit, comprising nine large scale, inter-related, colourful, flexible shapes can be moved around and joined together by children themselves, enabling them to create their own play landscapes.. SNUG is the result of a fifteen year process of research and evaluation into the way that children behave, react and play in specific environments by award-winning artists Snug & Outdoor.
SNUG changes the established patterns of behaviour in the school playground by engaging children’s imaginations and giving them the satisfaction of being able to change their own surroundings. It allows children to develop new ways of playing, encourages creativity social interaction and cooperation and is a creative learning resource.
